Atlanta's first Fall Festival was held in September 1950, when the Atlanta American Legion took the initiative and proposed an expansion of the Atlanta High School’s homecoming and fall festival. Atlanta's first Fall Festival was held in September 1950, when the Atlanta American Legion took the initiative and proposed an expansion of the Atlanta High School’s homecoming and fall festival. The first festival had a parade with 18 floats, one drum corps, four bands and numerous individual entries. Additionally, there was a Pet Show, band concerts, amateur hour, two dances, two ball games, horseshoe pitching contest, tennis tournament and carnival activities.
While the activities have changed throughout the years, the spirit of the festival remains the same – to celebrate Atlanta’s community.

At Atlanta Fall Festival, we strive to create a fun and exciting environment that celebrates the unique culture and history of our community. Our mission is to provide a safe space for all to come together and enjoy the best of what our region has to offer. From the Bingo tent to rides and games, live music, a celebration of our first responders, and a community worship service, there's something for kids and adults alike at Atlanta Fall Festival. Don't forget to check out our family-friendly contests and competitions, like the prince and princess contest, pet parade, baking contest and auction, kiddie tractor pull, or our first bags tournament. The weekend activities will conclude with our Parade and an Ice Cream Social.
